BLACKWOOD/OOSIC DAGGER. This one took some time, and I'm not likely to copy the design anytime soon. The blade is hand-forged 1095 carbon steel, with decorative filing on both sides of the ricasso. The handle is oosic and African Blackwood. This is a full-tang design, and the threaded tang goes completely through the handle. The oosic/wood sections of the handle are glued together in a separate operation, not stacked loosely on the tang. The brass pommel nut is filed into a decorative design. The sheath is African Blackwood, nicely figured. AccraGlas barrel bedding adhesive is used both inside the knife handle, and to attach the brass throat to the sheath. In addition 6 brass screws are used (2 are in the brass ferrules on the sides of the sheath body). The sheath is leather-lined. The fit of all joined surfaces if perfect--absolutely gap-free. Blade length: 3 1/8 inches; overall length 7 inches. Price: $375 plus postage and insurance.
