Two puukko, African Blackwood and Oosic handles. Welcome to Arcadia Forge. The knives you find here are of uncommon design and quality. I forge my blades from 1080, 1095, and 5160 carbon steel. Power tools don't have much of a role in shaping or finishing the blades--I do this with files and silicon carbide paper. In place of epoxy, I use Brownell's Acraglas for all adhesive applications. It is strong, and will retain its strength far longer than standard epoxy products. Whether simple and unadorned,
Or elaborate,
The fit and finish on an Arcadia Forge knife is impeccable.
You can recognize my blades by the forge finish I leave above the grind lines, by my deeply embossed sheaths,
and by the file work on the spine.
Handle material is usually what the customer asks for. This puukko handle is fossilized bone...
This one is Missouri Black Walnut and Yellowheart...
The sheath is bird's-eye maple; the handle is White Tail antler with a carved maple butt cap.
African Blackwood is a favorite. It is dense, stable, and has subtle purple highlights and a delicate figure.
